Commercial Insurance Account Manager

Position Summary Rue Insurance's Account Managers are trusted advisors that liaise between clients and insurance carriers to convey information, provide understanding, and ensure work is performed in an accurate, timely manner. Commercial Lines Account Managers are primarily responsible for providing outstanding client service and advisory support to all new and existing clients in a book of business (accounts above $25k in premium). Quality of work must exemplify the best-in-class service standards established by Rue Insurance at all times. The Account Manager's main focus is to build and maintain client relationships to support the new business and retention goals of their department.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the servicing responsibilities of a book of business, including policyrenewals, requests for policy changes and proofs of insurance, contract andinsurance requirement reviews, and assist with onboarding new clientsProcess client coverage renewals in a timely manner, from obtaining updated clientoperations and exposure data, to obtaining renewal quotations from insurers,analyzing and disclosing coverage changes, preparing renewal proposals for clientpresentation, and binding coveragePrepare complete marketing submissions with detailed instructions for Rue'sMarketing Department when remarketing is requested - continue to work closelywith marketer until final renewal or replacement of coverageProactively identify opportunities to educate clients, initiate inter-agency referrals,and offer enhanced or new coverage/account rounding recommendations tominimize client riskProactively identify opportunities to educate clients, initiate inter-agency referrals,and offer enhanced or new coverage/account rounding recommendations tominimize client riskHandle all client requests (internal and external) in a timely, friendly, empatheticand professional mannerPerform assigned responsibilities in accordance with the agency-established clientservice standardsIndependently handle all routine client servicing without producer involvementBuild and maintain long-term client relationships to support the departmentalretention goalsProvide clients a clear response on coverage or billing questions includinginformation on rate fluctuations or policy changes to ensure full understandingFollow all agency processes and procedures, including but not limited to, EpicWorkflows, client documentation, paper and electronic records retentionguidelines, etc.Accompany producers on client visits to accounts, as requestedParticipate in educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills, and/orachieve or maintain professional designation(s)Be familiar with and follow agency E&O guidelinesAttend and actively participate in regular department and monthly companyMeetingsPerform all other duties or projects as assigned by managementReports to: Commercial Lines ManagerDepartment: Commercial LinesWork Schedule & Classification: Full-time, salaried (non-exempt) positionSalary: $65,000 - $95,000 plus bonus opportunity based on company and individual performancePhysical Requirements: Must be capable of sitting for a long period of time, working on a computer, standing, and walking.Required QualificationsValid NJ Property and Casualty Insurance LicensesAt least 3 years of commercial lines account management experienceExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent organization skills with strong attention to detailStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent customer service mindset and skillsAbility to multi-task and complete work with a sense of urgencyTeam player with a positive attitudeKnowledge of insurance company rating systemsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeExperience with agency management softwarePreferred QualificationsBachelor's DegreeExperience using Applied Systems EpicActive Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designationActive Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Insurance DesignationBenefits:Paid Time Off (PTO)401(k) with Employer MatchProfit Sharing PlanFlexible work and In Office/Remote Hybrid Work Schedules (after 90 days)Insurance options for: Medical, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, Life, Accident, Critical Illness, Accident Death & Dismemberment and Identity TheftAbout Rue InsuranceRue Insurance is one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in the state of NJ, having been established in 1917.
