Supply Chain Planner
Responsible for planning and ordering materials: finished goods and raw materials. Reviews BOMs and product specifications to accurately determine amount of materials needed. Documents overall material need, including all codes, brands, and contact information necessary to process orders. Adjusts amounts for existing inventory and for orders of conventional sizes.Sets and manages production schedules in support of customer service, inventory and manufacturing cost targets.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Understand and utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to schedule orders as well as control inventory in support of the segment responsible.Plan, create, maintain and close out production orders for manufacturing of product. Adjust production orders as needed to support demand requirements.Determine order requirements within purchasing lead time and initiate purchase orders. Create Purchase Orders per demand and confirm delivery from Suppliers. Ensure product cost fields are accurate and reflect current active Supplier Pricing.Calculate and manage target stocking levels and economic order quantities per SKU throughout the distribution network to ensure high customer service levels.Ensure appropriate communication and processing of changed orders with vendors.Maintain purchase order files, invoice reconciliation and other related purchasing records.Receive inventory into system and resolve discrepancies in quantities on Purchase Orders with vendors.Recommend and assist in development of purchasing related processes and procedures. Assist in qualifying new vendors.Work with Quality Control to facilitate resolution of quality issues with suppliers. Work with R&D to ensure spec processes are followed and remain accurate.Participate in Continuous Improvement. Cooperate in Safety Programs and corporate initiatives. Support compliance by maintaining the confidentiality of information and protecting the assets of the organization with ethics and integrity.Participate in monthly SIOP process reviewing demand and supply planning.Assist the Supply Chain Manager in defining Planning parameters and in understanding the role each data element plays within the Planning process. Perform other duties deemed necessary to support the CRC’s business operationsREQUIREMENTS:Experience: 2-5 years within a manufacturing environment, with logistics, ordering & planning experienceMinimum 2 years of functional experience of manufacturing computer applications; MRP, purchasing, BOM, Inventory Control Etc. Education:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations or Business Mgmt.Skills:Strong work ethic. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to multi-task and manage several projects through completion while providing high attention to detailsProblem solving and time management skills to prioritize workload based on organization or department needs.Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Working knowledge and hands-on experience with manufacturing computer applications: MRP, purchasing, bills of material, inventory control.Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred.
