Spur Design is looking for a licensed Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role supports the design of thoughtful, high-quality electrical systems across a variety of building projects while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. EITs actively pursuing licensure may be considered.Responsibilities:Provide electrical engineering design and documentation on projects within Spur Design offices, including site investigations, drafting, design, contract documentation, and occasional construction administration.Lead MEP design teams to deliver electrical engineering support across a variety of building types and project scopesDevelop detailed electrical design drawings and specifications from schematic design through construction documents using Revit MEP or other modeling softwareDesign electrical systems including power service and distribution, branch circuits, lighting and controls, fire alarm, telecommunications, audio/visual, and security systemsProduce one-line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts, and construction documentationPrepare engineering reports at conceptual and schematic levelsPerform calculations for electrical loads, lighting levels, fault currents, protective coordination, and arc-flash analysis using established methods and software toolsInterpret and apply building codes and standards to ensure compliance and design integritySelect and size electrical equipment, review design calculations, and ensure alignment with project scopePerform and review Revit modeling and ensure accuracy in design documentationRespond to RFIs, perform submittal reviews, and manage ASI documentationEdit specifications and coordinate designs with architects and other engineering disciplinesConduct fieldwork and site investigations and provide direction to design staffInterpret drawings, codes, and technical materials to support design decisionsProvide first-pass technical review and guidance to junior staffAct as lead engineer on most projects with direction from senior licensed engineersDelegate project-related tasks to junior staff and provide mentorship and oversightParticipate in the mentoring and development of EITs and DesignersHelp develop and refine Spur Design standards and documentationMaintain and update office systems including Revit (BIM) libraries, filing systems, and project management toolsManage and prioritize project work proactively within a multi-disciplinary team environmentMaintain accurate daily records of time spent on assigned tasks and manage time effectivelyTravel as needed for site visits, professional collaboration, and satellite office supportAttend office meetings and regularly report on project progressSupport marketing efforts, project interviews, level-of-effort estimates, and proposal developmentEngage with clients, contractors, and officials regularly on projects of all sizes and complexitiesDemonstrate initiative by asking questions, seeking next steps, and pursuing continued growth in the fieldAt all times, be a positive representative of Spur Design both inside and outside the officeQualifications:Individual with 4+ years of experience in the construction industry or related fieldBachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Science, or a related fieldPassed the Professional Licensure exam (PE) and holds licensed status in a minimum of one stateIndividual with a strong understanding of electrical building systems, construction specifications, and contract documentsFamiliarity with Owner-Architect, Owner-Contractor, and Architect-Consultant agreementsDemonstrates ability to interpret and apply building codes, including NFPA 70, NFPA 72, NFPA 99, and NFPA 101Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Bluebeam, and design software, including AutoCAD and RevitStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detailIndividual who is adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and professional growthBenefits:Benefits offered with the full-time position include paid time off, sick time off, holiday time off;
