Insurance Accountant

Join a rapidly expanding global financial institution in New York as an Insurance focused Credit Analyst where you will play a pivotal role in the in-depth analysis of a portfolio of circa 20-30 insurance companies. You will perform comprehensive insurance company analysis across multiple sectors, including Property & Casualty, Life, and Reinsurance. Working within a highly collaborative environment, you will present your findings in internal committees alongside seasoned industry experts. You will be involved in:Supporting the development of analytical recommendations for various (re)insurers and debt securities. Performing detailed insurance company analysis by evaluating financial statements, risk management frameworks, and business plans. Creating peer group benchmarks and competitor overviews to provide deep market context. Authoring and publishing high-quality research reports on specific companies and emerging industry topics. Presenting analytical work products in internal committees and participating in external management meetings. You will have:A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional analyst role, such as FP&A, accounting, credit analysis, or regulatory reporting focused on the insurance industryA solid technical understanding of insurance accounting (US or Non-US) and financial statement analysis. Strong communication and organizational skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. A deep interest in the insurance industry, with a professional designation such as a CFA, Actuarial, or MBA being a significant advantage. Basic salary likely to be in the region of $100-120k.
