Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist in Long Beach, CA

A K-12 school in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with strong expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) assessment. This contract position runs through the current school year and is onsite in Azusa, CA.The ideal candidate will be an experienced SLP with a Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC) and familiarity with pediatric and school settings, teletherapy, and CFY. This role specifically requires expertise in AAC device evaluation and Keyguard customization.Responsibilities include:Conducting a one-time, comprehensive AAC assessment for a student with moderate to severe communication needs currently using an AAC device.Evaluating the student's communication challenges, including frequent device breakage.Providing a detailed recommendation report that may include the potential benefits of transitioning to a lower-tech AAC device.Collaborating with school staff to present and justify assessment findings and recommendations.Desired qualifications:Certified SLP (CCC) with Pediatric and School experience.Proven knowledge of AAC device options and Keyguard customization.Strong assessment and reporting skills.Ability to work effectively within a K-12 educational setting.Teletherapy experience is a plus but onsite presence in Azusa required for this assignment.This contract offers an opportunity to apply specialized AAC assessment skills within an educational environment serving students with extensive communication needs.Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply promptly to be considered for this unique contract assignment.
