This position is hybrid, 3-days on-site in Norco,CA* Job SummaryThe Technical Writer performs foundational documentation tasks in support of technical teams, program requirements, and internal business operations. This position supports the creation, formatting, and revision of user guides, standard operating procedures, training materials, meeting minutes, and technical documentation. This role works under close supervision and follows established documentation guidelines and templates.As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.ResponsibilitiesDraft, format, and revise technical documents based on source materials provided by subject matter expertsEdit content for grammar, style, and consistency using standard templatesAssist in maintaining document repositories and file version controlSupport preparation of training guides, help manuals, SOPs, and visual materialsAttend meetings to capture and compile notes into summary documentsFollow internal guidelines and contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation practicesCollaborate with team members to gather data and clarify content requirementsTrack status of assigned documentation tasks and report updates to supervisorBasic QualificationsU.S. Citizenship RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent1–2 years’ experience in administrative, clerical, or writing-focused roleStrong written communication and proofreading skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and PDF editing toolsDoD Secret Clearance RequiredIf applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offeredPreferred QualificationsAssociate’s degree or coursework in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related fieldExperience supporting a federal contractor or defense programFamiliarity with SharePoint or collaborative document systemsExposure to style guides such as Chicago Manual of Style or Microsoft Manual of StyleCompany SummaryJoin the VSolvit team!
