You’ll work closely with data engineers, analytics engineers, software engineers, data scientists, and product partners to deliver reliable, observable, and well-modeled data systems.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning complex data problems end-to-end, influencing architecture and standards, and raising the technical bar for data engineering across teams.What You’ll DoBuild and operate production-grade data platforms that support IMO’s terminology-driven products, analytics, and machine learning use casesDesign, develop, and maintain data pipelines for batch and incremental processing using modern lakehouse and cloud-native patternsWork extensively with cloud data platforms (AWS + Databricks) to ingest, transform, and serve structured and semi-structured data at scale Support data visualization use cases across Angular applications, dashboards, and BI platforms by designing analytics-ready datasets, APIs, and aggregation layers Model data intentionally—developing well-documented, analytics- and product-ready data models that balance usability, performance, and correctnessApply strong software engineering practices to data work, including version control, testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-codeCollaborate directly with product, analytics, and AI teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutionsImprove reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of data systems through monitoring, observability, and continuous optimizationDesign for data quality and trust, implementing automated checks, validation frameworks, and lineage-aware workflowsContribute to platform evolution, helping shape standards around orchestration, data modeling, environments, and deploymentOperate in an Agile environment, taking ownership of deliverables and proactively identifying risks and opportunitiesMentor and support other engineers, leading by example in code quality, problem decomposition, and technical decision-makingContinuously learn and apply industry best practices in data engineering, analytics engineering, and AI data foundationsWhat You’ll NeedBachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field and 5+ years of professional experience, or 7+ years of equivalent hands-on experienceDemonstrated experience building and supporting end-to-end data platforms in a production environmentStrong programming experience in Python and SQL, with an engineering mindset toward maintainability and testingDeep experience with cloud-baseddataplatforms, especially:AWS (e.g., S3, EC2, RDS, IAM)Databricks / Spark-based processingStrong SQL skills, including complex transformations and performance-aware query design Experience supporting data visualization use cases by delivering datasets, APIs, and data models for dashboards and BI tools Hands-on experience with data orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow or equivalent)Experience designing and optimizing datamodels for analytics, reporting, and downstream applicationsFamiliarity with CI/CD practices and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Git, Terraform)Comfort working with large, complex, and evolving datasets, including managing schema change and metadataStrong analytical, debugging, and root-cause analysis skillsClear written and verbal communication skills, including documenting designs and tradeoffsA proactive, ownership-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively across teamsPreferred ExperienceExperience with analytics engineering tools and patterns (e.g., dbt or similar transformation frameworks)Familiarity with data observability, monitoring, and cost management in cloud environmentsExperience supporting AI / ML data pipelines or feature engineering workflowsExposure to streaming or near–real-time data processing conceptsExperience with healthcare, clinical, or regulated data domainsFamiliarity with metadata management, data catalogs, and lineage conceptsAWS certifications (Data Engineer, Solutions Architect, or AI/ML)Experience with Angular, Power BI, Tableau$130,000 - $180,000 a yearCompensation at IMO Health is determined by job level, role requirements, and each candidate’s experience, skills, and location. The listed base pay represents the target for new hires with individual compensation varying accordingly. These figures exclude potential bonuses, equity, or sales incentives, which may also be part of the total compensation package.
