Lead Toddler Teacher

Job Description OverviewA Lead Teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a Lead Teacher is responsible to work together with an Assistant Teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty.Educational and Job QualificationsAll candidates, who wish to be considered for the position of Lead Teacher must meet one or more of the following criteria, in addition to any/all requirements that may be mandated by state and/or local licensing authorities:A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Elementary Education, Child DevelopmentCDAA bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, including 90 hours preschool certificationPrevious large center experience with the ability to write your own lesson plansLead Teacher ResponsibilitiesA Lead Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Develop and implement lesson plansProficiency with classroom technology (e.g., interactive white board, computers, etc.).Meet the individual needs of each childCommunicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow teachersParticipate in teacher training and meetingsInteract with children to support play, exploration, and learningPresent expectations that are age and developmentally appropriateWork as a member of a teamUse assessment toolsCommit to continuing educationNurturing Teaching StyleTeam PlayerCommitment to Professional Development
