Outside Forklift Operator / Yard Manager

Our work environment includes: * On-the-job training * Growth opportunities * Commitment to excellence * Commitment to safety *Responsibilities:* *Lumber:* * Unloading Lumber Trucks * Verifying quantities. * Spot checking quality/sizing on each load that is received. * Turning in signed lumber tickets to the office. * Weekly rough inventory. * Monthly detailed inventory. * Keeping lumber organized and in it's proper places. * Keep lumber "rotated" so it doesn't get old and turn black. *Yard:* * Jockeying trailers - (shared responsibility with Kris). * Keeping the yard clean - (picking up trash/4x4's - using the JLG forklift to spread gravel/fill potholes in gravel lot). * Pushing snow in winter. * Equipment: * JLG Forklift, 7,000 lb Toyota Forklift, Jockey Truck - responsible for making sure they are parked properly each evening, cleaned each Friday. * Forklift Operator: * Loading "big" pallets - (like 13' Plygem, 18' Versetex, etc.). * Feeding the Pendu, HighSpeed Keystone and Keystone Bandsaw saw lines (bringing in the lumber for them to cut). * Work with the saws to get them what they need - certain accounts may require only poplar or only oak, for some cuts higher quality lumber works much better, lots of little nuances that when learned can make things better for the guys in operations. *Requirements for Role:* *Required:* * Prior experience driving a forklift (or similar equipment) is required. * Must be highly proficient in neatness and organization. * Ability to multi-task effectively; keep saws "fed" while still unloading/loading trucks. * Proficiency with basic math is required to be able to do inventory properly. * Ability to communicate with and build relationships with YPCL drivers and outside carrier drivers. * Somewhat self-motivated, able to handle high pressure situations calmly and professionally. *Preferred:* * Prior experience managing inventory/warehouse is highly preferred. * Basic computer skills preferred. *Expected Compensation:* $20+/hour; Pay negotiable, based on experience. *Additional Benefits:* * Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance with employer contributions to premiums. * Company paid Life Insurance. * 401k with employer match. * 6 paid holidays. * Paid Vacation Interested applicants can send resumes to taylor.lewis@yoderpallets.com or stop by in person to drop off a resume or pick up an application. *Yoder Pallet Company – 304-496-9602, 1639 Slanesville Pike, Points, WV 25437* _*About the Interview Process:*_ _Selected applicants will be required to complete an in-person job tryout as part of the interview process.
