Physician Assistant | Urgent Care

With offices across North Carolina, the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner role is needed for a busy orthopedic urgent care. The Physician Assistant with guidance and support of the supervising physicians, will provide efficient comprehensive orthopedic care including imaging services, rehabilitation and pain management. EmergeOrtho allows providers to use the full extent of their licensure. EmergeOrtho' s well-established program, training protocols, and physician management support the provider's independent medical judgment in a fast paced outpatient orthopedic setting. Alternating Coverage | 3-12 hour shifts Monday - SaturdayRequirementsQualifications and ExperienceMinimum 1 year experience, 2 years preferredGraduate of an accredited PA or NP programPhysician Assistant license requiredMedical training from an approved programAt least two years of experience as a Physician AssistantGood knowledge of medical office software such as but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, and medical practice softwareFamiliarity with EMR programsKnowledge of medical terminologyExcellent communication skillsExcellent documentation skills Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the followingPatient evaluation by performing appropriate history and physical examsOrdering laboratory, radiological and special studiesPerforming diagnostic procedures such as, but not limited to, physical examination, phlebotomy, catheterization, joint injections, and aspirations and administering of vaccinesPerforming therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, suturing of wounds, foreign body removal, I&D of abscesses, reduction of fractures and dislocations, splinting, casting, and injectionsAssisting the surgeon in the OR as designatedReading and interpreting imaging studies and laboratory reportsInitiation of life-saving measures as neededDiagnosing and treating minor illnesses of employees of EmergeOrtho, P.A.Telephone contact with patients as appropriate OtherInvolvement in QI and research programsAttendance at educational and department meetingsIntermittent OR, UC, and other clinic coverage required
