A nursing assistant provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN), and is essential to keeping the unit functioning smoothly. Gain valuable, hands-on experience while changing the lives of your patients at Sanford Health!Responsibilities:Provide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while supporting emotional and spiritual needsRecord vital statistics, blood glucose levels, and other basic health informationAssist with patient transfers and ambulationPerform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcarePrepare and clean patient treatment areas, living areas, and medical equipmentDispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policyQualifications: High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Certified nursing assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
