CDL Local Driver/Yard Jockey -Home Daily-All Shifts!

US 1 Shorthaul's Local CDL Yard Jockey / Shuttle Driver Position A Yard Jockey/Shuttle driver is responsible for efficiently and accurately selecting and staging trailers for loading and transport.Primary responsibilities include:Correctly move trailers in and out of dock with yard goatsManeuvering truck and trailer safely in busy industrial environmentsRegularly checking equipment for faults or damagesEnsuring the equipment complies with all guidelines, including weight restrictionsProper pre and post trip inspections and submitting reports indicating truck conditionsProduce activity logsAdhere to guidelines of safety-sensitive functions pertaining to job responsibilities within yardIdentifying workplace safety hazardsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by managementKnowledge, skills, and abilities required include:Attention to detailGood knowledge of industrial equipmentAbility to operate a two-way radioExcellent hand-eye coordinationSpatial awarenessGood time-management skillsGreat interpersonal and communication skillsUnderstanding and communicating in the English language is a requirementPossess a team-player attitudeAbility to read, understand, and demonstrate safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to request and complete trailer moves in the Yard Management System (Catalyst System)Education/experience required:Minimum 18 months, verifiable over-the-road experience in the past 5 years, of which 12 months must be within the past 3 years that is similar experience and subjected to the FMCSA's drug testing rules of 49 CFR Part 40Minimum of 12 months of over the road or trailer spotting verifiable experience in the last 3 yearsExperience backing 48' to 53' trailers (including in tight spaces and to dock doors)May substitute local for over-the-road experienceRequired to perform occasional shuttle routes, is not limited to a certain time of yearClearinghouse query consentPSP below 90No preventable DOT accidents within the past 3 yearsNo application falsifications, application must include 10-year, verifiable employment history with no gaps in employmentThis position must pass pre-hire background and drug testDOT compliance obligations (medical card, drug/alcohol testing, etc.)No drug related charges, past failed drug screens, past refused drug screens, and no SAP programsNo felony convictions within the past 7 yearsRequirement to operate a CMV on public roadsCDL requirementMandatory acceptance of shuttle assignmentsPosition type, pay, and expected hours of work:This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) positionHours worked over 40 hours in 1-week qualify for overtime (paid time and a half)Travel:No OTR for this positionAbout US 1 Shorthaul:US 1 Shorthaul offers short division logistics services throughout 48 states, leading with integrity, experience, and most of all - safety.
