Senior Accountant

Harmer is actively recruiting for our Midstream client seeking a skilled Oil & Gas General Ledger Accountant. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal oversight in a hybrid environment.Core ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and full financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).Manage GL functions across revenue, JIB, and AP, with the ability to understand the full operational picture.Work independently while managing 5–6 clients, including a large WolfPak client with multiple entities and several smaller startups or newly acquired companies.Meet deadlines consistently in a remote environment with limited oversight.Required Technical Skills• Oil & Gas financial reporting experience (minimum ~10 years preferred).• Strong GL background with hands-on experience performing:• Account reconciliations• Bank reconciliations• Month-end close• Financial statement preparation• Wolf Pak expertise (REQUIRED)• ODA experience strongly preferred; ability to learn new systems quickly• Excel proficiency, including pivot tables.• Ability to calculate: ARO (Asset Retirement Obligation) and depletion of oil & gas properties• Workover accounting (knowing when to capitalize vs. expense)Education• Bachelor’s degree required.• Accounting degree strongly preferred.• Finance degree acceptable if the candidate has completed substantial accounting coursework.
