As part of the small and dynamic Cooking with Kids team, you'll be responsible for organizing, scheduling and conducting program activities that encourage healthy food choices and provide opportunities for interdisciplinary learning. You will work closely with the Cooking with Kids Program Director, school site staff and school district cafeteria personnel. Being an active and involved team member will help you succeed in this role. If so, we want you to apply!About the RoleAs a Cooking with Kids Educator, you'll be part of a highly-skilled team who supports the education and empowerment of children and families to make healthy food choices through hands-on learning with fresh and affordable foods. Some of your tasks may include:• Teaching classes, implementing cafeteria promotions and classroom tastings in coordination with the needs of the school• Using Cooking with Kids Curriculum for classroom instruction, and adapting teaching and classroom management skills to grade level, teaching styles, and classroom settings• Establishing and maintaining positive, effective relationships with all school personnel, cafeteria managers and staff, students, peers, parents, and communityReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.About the TeamCooking with Kids provide fun and positive experiences with healthy foods and give kids confidence in the kitchen, helps school cafeterias use local food, cook from scratch, and successfully introduce new foods into the lunchroom, and builds classroom-to-kitchen bridges that support healthy eating efforts at home.Since its inception in 1995, Cooking with Kids serves over 6,000 children in Northern New Mexico every year.
