Front Desk Receptionist
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, and staff whether in person or by phone. This role is responsible for providing compassionate, courteous, and efficient front‑desk service while supporting administrative operations in a healthcare environment. The Front Desk Receptionist plays a key part in representing Patriot Healthcare by handling all public interactions with respect and professionalism. This role will provide support to our office employees, ensuring they have all the information and resources they need to perform their best.Duties And ResponsibilitiesSteward the philosophy/mission of Patriot Healthcare which focuses on the overriding values of human dignity and respectful response to the needs of people with life threatening/terminal and/or chronic illnessesGreet and assist patients, families, visitors, vendors, and staff in a professional and compassionate mannerAnswer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously. Listen actively and respond with empathyCoordinate communication between clinical staff, management, and callersRespond to general inquiries and provide basic information regarding hospice and palliative servicesMaintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all timesSchedule appointments, meetings, and conference rooms as neededReceive, sort, and distribute mail, packages, and deliveriesMaintain the reception area to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environmentPrepare outgoing mail for pickupPerform clerical tasks including data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and record maintenanceAssist with administrative support tasks as directed (e.g., forms preparation, document tracking)ProfessionalismDemonstrates professionalism in attire and attitude. Promotes cohesive positive relationships with co-workers. Treats patient and care givers with compassion and respect. Communicates with other offices/businesses professionallyAttendance/PunctualityAdheres to policy and procedures regarding time off, arriving on time, and early departure. Being ready work at start of shiftDependabilityDemonstrates dependability through attendance and successful completion of any assigned taskQualificationsMust possess, as a minimum, a 12th grade education or its equivalent. Must have, as a minimum, 1 year’s office experience.
