Maintenance Inventory Parts Clerk -1st Shift

DescriptionSummary:The Maintenance Inventory Parts Clerk is responsible for managing and organizing the inventory of spare parts and supplies essential for the efficient operation of machinery and equipment.Functions Of The Position:The role is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all spare parts and supplies used within the maintenance department. This includes utilizing the Express Maintenance database to track stock levels, monitor part usage, and identify restocking needs.The position collaborates closely with the maintenance team to determine required spare parts and supplies, ensuring critical items are consistently stocked to minimize downtime. Responsibilities include initiating purchase requisitions, processing purchase orders, and following up with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.This role receives incoming inventory shipments and verifies the accuracy of items received against purchase orders. It also maintains an orderly and organized inventory storage area to support easy accessibility and efficient retrieval of parts.The position works directly with maintenance technicians to issue necessary spare parts and supplies based on maintenance requests. It also conducts regular inventory audits to ensure physical stock levels match system records, identifying and investigating any discrepancies between documentation and actual quantities.Additional duties may be assigned as needed.QualificationsEducation, Experience, and Knowledge Basic maintenance knowledge, including familiarity with tools, parts, and materials.Proven experience as an inventory clerk or in a stockroom, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Experience with a CMM system, including data entry and report generation.Skills and Competencies Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing).Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with co-workers and department leaders.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Proficient in computer use, especially inventory management software.Detail-oriented with solid math skills.Job-Specific Requirements Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.JBSS is an Equal Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or status as a protected veteran.
