Resident Services Receptionist
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Resident Services team performs a variety of duties/services that enhance the quality of life of Dallas Retirement Village Independent Residents.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
1. Provides weekend reception coverage Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 3pm to 11pm at the Independent Living front desk. Workload includes but is not limited to answering telephones/emails, providing information, selling items, making copies, forwarding communications to other staff, and other miscellaneous tasks.
2. Maintains a tidy office and residential space.
3. Delivers packages or other communication.
4. Help IL residents with Odyssey account including lockout assistance.
5. Responds to emergency calls during shift.
6. Creates and maintains personal engagement, a receptive atmosphere, and a peaceful environment.
7. Protects resident dignity through thoughtful relationships with residents, families, and staff.
8. Secures building at designated times locking and securing doors and completes a tour of the buildings - halls and all points of entry - to ensure residential security.
9. Immediately reports notable changes in resident conditions to the Director.
10. Complete all mandatory training.
11. Completes other tasks, as assigned by the Resident Services Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be able to work independently.
2. Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
3. One year of experience working with the senior population preferred.
4. Must have good oral and verbal communication skills.
5. Must be able to appropriately prioritize and organize multiple tasks/projects.
6. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with residents, families, staff, community resources, visitors, and the public.
7. Must be highly customer service oriented and dedicated to always providing superior hospitality and service.
8. You must be able to project cheerfulness and enthusiasm, maintain a positive attitude and work as a productive member of the team.
9. Must maintain a professional appearance in compliance with facility dress codes.
10. Must be able to read and write in English language.
11. Must possess basic computer and telephone skills.
12. Must be able to deal effectively with residents and staff when conflicts arise and/or stressful situations, including emergencies.
13. Must have the ability to encourage and create enthusiasm about Independent Living programs and daily functions.
14. Must have a valid drivers license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normally it works in well lighted, comfortable surroundings. Must be able to concentrate with frequent interruptions. Must be able to sit for up to fifty percent (50%) of the workday. Must have manual dexterity for typing and filing. Frequent walking; frequent bending, reaching, and stooping. Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) lbs. independently. May be exposed to communicable diseases including the HIV and HBV viruses, unpleasant odors, and combative behavior.
