OverviewSupports the LINE Facade Studio while working independently with guidance, focused exclusively on leading-edge facade and enclosure elements. Contributes and assists in design, engineering, and analysis tasks to advance respective projects. Creative, open-minded, embodies professionalism and accountability, provides and receives rational feedback, uses respectful language, and is ready to surmount conventional thinking.ResponsibilitiesModifies or creates enclosure sketches, drafted details, 3D models, BIM models, narratives, specifications, reports, and other documentation applying standard architectural and engineering techniques and according to written and verbal direction with general supervisionCollaborates with project or team leaders on design and technical resolution of project implementation for a defined portion of a projectPerforms routine architectural, engineering, and/or energy analysis tasks, including design responsibilities in collaboration with other team membersAssists in preparing client presentations and presents project design intent or analysis resultsPerforms product research; assists with enclosure material selection and system researchCommunicates with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to incorporate information into design, project requirements, and documents as neededProvides guidance and direction to entry-level staff as appropriateMay support research of code requirements and engineering standardsMay attend on-site visits, field reviews, client meetings, or project meetings and document these visits as appropriateMay assist in preparing proposals, presentations, schedules, physical samples, or physical modelsMay participate in site or factory inspection, audit, or test oversight visitsTravel may be required.QualificationsAccredited professional degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related fieldActively pursuing Architectural or Engineering RegistrationTypically with 3-5 years of experienceSustainable design accreditation preferredKnowledge of scripting and parametric modeling software such as Grasshopper, Ladybug Tools, Dynamo, Python, C# preferredAwareness of structural analysis software such as Strand, Solidworks, SJ Mepla, Ansys Mech preferredProficiency with thermal engineering software such as LBNL Window, LBNL Therm, LBNL Optics, WUFI, WUFI Mould Index, VTTProficiency with optical, lighting, and daylighting design software such as RADIANCE, ClimateStudio, EVALGLARE, Acelerad, Ladybug Tools, ALFA, LARK preferredProficiency with architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and 3D modeling preferredExperience in Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and InDesign graphic software preferredProficiency in MS Office Suite preferredKnowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelinesKnowledge of QA/QC process and building codesAbility to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writingAbility to problem-solve and collaborate on innovative solutionsAbility to work in team environmentAbility to work on multiple projects at the same timeAbility to effectively meet deadlines at expected qualityHKS is an EEO/AA Employer: M/F/Disabled/VeteranJ-18808-Ljbffr
