Position SummaryThirty Nine Enterprises, LLC is a subsidiary of First Americans Museum with the goal of driving First American Museum’s mission within food and beverage services.The Banquet Captain is a lead position responsible for overseeing the execution of catered events, including setup, service, and breakdown. This role ensures that all service staff are trained, prepared, and aligned with expectations for the event. The Banquet Captain acts as the point of contact for front of house during events and works closely with the Events Manager, Culinary Team, and supports the Thirty Nine Events Departments to deliver a high-quality guest experience.The Banquet Captain supports both event operations and restaurant service. When not assigned to events, this role functions as a Server in 39 Restaurant. As a Server the Banquet Captain is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent impression of 39 Restaurant from the server effectively waiting on guests, presenting themselves with a kind and welcoming demeanor, exercising high attention to detail and accuracy, being efficient and an excellent team player.Duties And ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesLead setup and breakdown of catering events according to BEO instructions and event layouts.Supervise banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff during events.Ensure all service standards are followed: table settings, buffet layouts, timing, and professionalism.Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure proper timing and delivery of food.Address guest concerns promptly and with professionalism, escalating issues as needed.Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all service areas before guest arrival.Assign & monitor side work before, during, and after events.Ensure all staff follow safety, sanitation, and uniform guidelines.Complete post-event breakdown, cleaning, and inventory of front of house event supplies.Provide feedback to the Events Manager on team performance and event execution.Provides outstanding customer service to create a welcoming atmosphereGreet guests promptly and courteouslyMaintains server stations and to go stations, before, during and after shift to ensure proper set-up and cleanliness.Keep tables, dining areas, and service stations clean and organized throughout the shift.Ensures guest satisfaction throughout the meal service, including drink refills, bar orders, pre-bussing and removal of empty plates.Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures to ensure a clean and safe dining environment.Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff for seamless service and timely order delivery.Manage complaints or problems with a positive attitude alongside management.Process payments accurately via cash, credit card, or other methods, and issue receipts. This will be done with Cash bars and host bars must have tally marks. All sheets are provided by management.Restock and prepare dining areas for the next shift or service.Abide by all state, federal regulations and ABLE liquor law policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about new menu items or procedures. This would include Monday weekly banquet event meeting and Wednesday staff meeting.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
