Purchasing & Inventory Specialist

Purchasing & Inventory SpecialistServe as a key operational and financial support role overseeing the company's comprehensive purchasing and inventory operations. This role commands oversight over diverse functions, including procurement, inventory record keeping, asset tracking, merchandising, and Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) oversight duties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all purchasing and inventory functions align with Hive's strategic objectives, fostering operational excellence, meticulous organization, and seamless interdepartmental coordination to support integration projects and client satisfaction. Source and purchase Audio-Visual (AV) and low-voltage equipment, parts, and materials required for upcoming integration projects, maintaining strong relationships with vendors and distributors. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all inventory, conduct regular inventory audits, and ensure warehouse is meticulously organized. Monitor and track company assets, ensuring all equipment is accounted for from the warehouse to the job site to prevent loss and improve efficiency. Organize and manage company product catalog and inventory arrangements (merchandising), ensuring optimal workflow. Assist with essential accounting duties, including processing vendor invoices (Accounts Payable), generating client invoices (Accounts Receivable), and reconciling purchase orders to support the finance department. Collaborate closely with project managers and technicians to align purchasing timelines with project schedules, ensuring parts are available when needed. Analyze inventory data and purchasing trends to measure effectiveness, identify areas for cost savings, and implement strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence. Prior experience or strong familiarity with Smart Home systems, Audio-Visual (AV) equipment, and low-voltage integration parts is highly preferred. Minimum 1-3 years of progressive experience in purchasing, inventory control, procurement, or a related operations/finance role. Proven track record in inventory management, asset tracking, and basic financial operations (AP/AR). Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on meticulous attention to detail, particularly with complex part numbers and financial data. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams, technicians, and external vendors. Tech-savvy with proficiency in inventory management software, accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks), and standard office applications. Primarily office and warehouse-based, with occasional lifting of AV equipment, boxes, and parts. Compensation: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year.
