Also responsible for organizing and garnishing completed orders for server/runner pick up.Essential functionsMust be willing and able to:Arrange food orders according to ticketsBalance needs of cooks and serversUnderstand and read a server order (both handwritten and computerized)Organize server orders for cook line in order of receiptCoordinate orders per ticket to ensure complete deliveryAssume responsibility for all communication between service staff and kitchen and vice versaClearly and audibly announce servers' orders to line cooksProperly garnish appropriate menu itemsOperate all functions of position alone and without assistance if necessaryPerform all functions of line and prep cooksMaintain menu item counts and communicate to servers when quantities fall below 10Assure and maintain food quality standardsCommunicate cordially, effectively and clearly with co-workersPerform varied duties to ensure proper back of house operation according to standing operating procedureRequirementsQualification standards:Prefer a minimum of 2 years restaurant experience or the equivalent. Must have knowledge and experience in the preparation of food items.Must be willing and able to:Meet personal schedule requirements punctuallyProject a friendly, courteous and pleasant attitudeProvide a clean, well manicured persona that reflects the established image of the restaurantStand and/or walk for an entire shiftSafely transport items to and from the kitchen on a slick and uneven surface and up and/or down stairs where applicableMove and transport hot plates to a common or set area for pick upRetrieve and stock shelves and coolersSafely move about in all areas of the restaurantWork a variable and flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidaysPerform in limited physical space with variable ventilation, smoke and extreme temperatures
