Structural Welder Lead Seeking a Lead Structural Welder looking to be part of an industrial manufacturer starting a welding department. In this role you will be handling structural welding on construction skids Frames using GMAW processes, including spray transfer, pulse, short circuit, and flux-cored welding. You will support the training and mentorship of other welders, emphasizing workmanship, safety, and procedural adherence.Responsibilities Lead a shift in performing structural welding using GMAW processes.Support training and mentoring of welders on workmanship, safety, and procedures.Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the welding department.Fabricate and weld large structural assemblies to code and specification.Read and interpret detailed blueprints, drawings, and AWS welding symbols.Layout parts and assemblies accurately prior to welding.Identify fabrication challenges and develop practical solutions.Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts as required.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding area.Essential Skills 3+ years of experience leading or supervising welding personnel.5+ years of GMAW welding experience.Experience in structural welding on large assemblies.Ability to pass AWS D1.1 2G GMAW spray transfer and 3G flux-cored welding qualification tests.Additional Skills & Qualifications Crane operation experience.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and AWS weld symbols.Ability to perform precise fit-up and layout in production fixtures.Understanding of structural steel behavior and material thickness variation.Safe operation of overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts.Benefits Scheduled pay raises equaling 5 dollars in over two years4% 401k matchingQuarterly bonusesRaise once getting MIG pulse certified with CWI on siteMedical, vision, and dental insurance company paidFull PPE provided, including 3M PAPR welding hoodRaise once getting MIG pulse certifiedLife insuranceFamily-owned and promote from withinWork Environment Join a growing structural manufacturing environment featuring recent building additions and renovations, creating an open and spacious workplace.
