Multilingual Learners (ML) Teacher - ESL
The School District of Onalaska is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Multilingual Learners (ML) Teacher beginning the 2026-2027 school year.Job Goal: To meet individual needs of identified students with Limited English Proficiency.RequiredCertified Staff are required to assume an obligation for all teaching functions related to a quality educational program including but not limited to:Monitors ML student's progress and consults with other teaching staff.Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to provide push in, individualized, and small group instruction to identified students to increase acquisition of the English language.Translates lesson plans into meaningful learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time or instruction.Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a safe and functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.Coordinates annual district English proficiency testing process.Coordinates and provides necessary accommodations for ML students during other required district and state assessments.Participates in review of ML programming and improvement planning.Evaluates student's English proficiency and academic growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports as necessary.Develop an effective service delivery model of ML programming including matching student needs to services, writing measurable goals in individual ML plans and effectively monitoring student progress.Develop an effective schedule of instructional time to meet the needs of LEP students including the use of bilingual interpreter services.QualificationsPossess a valid Wisconsin Teaching License for assigned level and EL certificationPossess a minimum of a B.S./B.A. degree with a major in the assigned area of teachingPrior Teaching Experience Preferred But Not RequiredSuch qualifications as the administration may find appropriatePlease complete the online cover letter addressed to Lish Olson, Director of Instructional Services, and attach a resume, transcripts, and a minimum of two letters of recommendation.We are seeking individuals who embody Onalaska's core values of Belonging, Engagement, Continuous Improvement, Collaboration, and Integrity.This position is also posted on WECAN (https://wecan.waspa.org/Vacancy/264303).
