Software Engineer

Typical task breakdown:Control algorithm or Software developmentSimulation with SIL and HILValidation on MachineEducation & Experience Required: MS degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or comparable required with 3+ years industry experiencePhD in electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferredNO Bachelors or belowTop 3 Skills:Extensive experience in Matlab/Simulink, Stateflow, Simscape Power Systems, and Co-simulation, and their applicationsExperience and knowledge with linear control theory and basic PID with physics insight, Advanced nonlinear control disciplines such as adaptive or variable structure/sliding mode control, intelligent control schemes such as neural networks or fuzzy logic controlExperience and knowledge with embedded software implementation based on multi-tasking real-time operating systems and/or Linux based operating systemsAdditional Technical Skills:(Required)Be able to debug software using software debuggers (Lauterbach), CANape, CANalyzer or the current toolset.Experience and knowledge with version control tools like GIT/IvyExperience with Java, JavaScript, Python, C, C++(Desired) In depth knowledge of Generator Controls and OperationExperience with controls for hybrid energy plants with renewable sourcesExperience of Software development tools and service toolsIn depth knowledge of Engine ControlsSoft Skills(Required)Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.(Desired) Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.Proven abilities to work with internal teams.Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks.
