Security Engineer, GPU Kernel Driver
For our client, we are seeking a Security Engineer, GPU Kernel Driver to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will focus on strengthening the security posture of kernel and firmware components across complex hardware and software systems. You will own vulnerability triage and remediation, drive secure development practices, and partner closely with engineering and security stakeholders to harden products and reduce risk. The position also involves leading security scanning efforts, validating fixes, and translating technical findings into clear metrics and reports that support long-term security strategy.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $152,000 – $287,500 annually
Responsibilities:
Own the security vulnerability backlog for kernel and firmware components, ensuring timely triage and remediation Lead continuous security pipeline scanning and engage in root-cause analysis and validation Communicate security risks and remediation progress through metrics and reports Partner with engineering and security teams to execute long-term security strategy and product hardening Drive and implement security reviews of software and hardware designs to enhance product robustness Evaluate and develop cutting-edge security technologies and practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 5+ years of relevant industry software engineering experience Experience with security analysis of complex systems Strong technical background with excellent C programming and low-level driver experience Knowledge of operating systems and computer architecture fundamentals Strong communication, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
