This is a long-term opportunity, with competitive pay, and the team is actively scheduling interviews.Role: Senior Data Architect - TelecommunicationsLocation: San Francisco, CA (Onsite)Employment Type: W2 ContractRate: $80 - 85/HourRole Overview:We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Architect / Lead Data Engineer with strong telecommunications data experience.This is not a documentation-only architecture role. The ideal candidate can define target architecture, make critical technology decisions, design reusable patterns, and work directly with engineering teams to build and deliver production-grade solutions.The candidate must have hands-on experience designing and delivering modern data platforms, data pipelines, governed data products, semantic layers, metadata models, ontologies, knowledge graphs, Graph RAG solutions, and AI-ready data foundations.Strong telecommunications experience is required, including experience with telecom provider data, OSS/BSS systems, service activation or provisioning systems, Telecom Lifecycle Management, Telephone Asset Management, Telecom Expense Management, phone number lifecycle, device lifecycle, device tracking, billing, usage, carrier/vendor data, and provider reconciliation.The candidate will work closely with clients, telecom operations teams, finance, procurement, HR, ITSM, enterprise architects, data engineers, AI engineers, product teams, and delivery leaders.Required Experience and Skills:10-15+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, enterprise data platforms, telecom data solutions, or related technology domains.Strong architecture capability with hands-on engineering depth.Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms, data pipelines, integration frameworks, governed data products, and AI-ready data foundations.Strong SQL and practical data engineering experience using Python, Spark, dbt, ETL/ELT, APIs, CDC, streaming, batch ingestion, file ingestion, orchestration, and production-grade pipeline delivery.Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP, data warehouses, lakehouses, data mesh, and data fabric.Strong data modeling experience, including conceptual, logical, physical, dimensional, canonical, and semantic modeling.Experience with metadata, lineage, data quality, governance, access control, data products, data contracts, observability, security, and compliance.Experience designing restart able and auditable pipelines with batch IDs, run IDs, audit tables, control tables, error tables, retries, checkpoints, reconciliation counts, and exception handling.Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to business, technical, and executive stakeholders.Required Telecommunications Experience:The candidate must have practical experience in one or more of the following telecom areas:Telecom Lifecycle Management, including service request, activation, provisioning, assignment, movement, suspension, disconnect, retirement, and reconciliation.Telephone Asset Management, including phone numbers, mobile devices, desk phones, VoIP devices, softphones, SIM/eSIM records, service plans, and carrier accounts.Telecom Expense Management, including invoice ingestion, charge validation, usage analysis, cost allocation, duplicate charge detection, inactive service detection, and savings identification.Experience working with data provided by telephone service providers, including carrier invoices, usage records, service inventories, number inventories, device inventories, rate plans, contracts, order records, disconnect records, and billing adjustments.Experience integrating telecom provider data through APIs, carrier portals, SFTP/file feeds, CSV/Excel extracts, billing reports, inventory exports, usage extracts, and telecom expense platforms.Experience reconciling internal enterprise records with carrier/provider records to identify billing mismatches, inactive services, duplicate charges, unassigned devices, orphaned numbers, incorrect cost centers, and lifecycle gaps.Experience connecting telecom data with HR, identity, ITSM, procurement, finance, asset management, security, carrier systems, and enterprise data platforms.Experience with telecom OSS/BSS, service activation, service provisioning, inventory, billing, expense, or asset management systems is strongly preferred.Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data, telecommunications, or a related field.Relevant cloud, data, AI, telecom, security, or architecture certifications are a plus.Trident Consulting is a premier IT staffing firm providing high-impact workforce solutions to Fortune 500 and mid-market clients.
