Electrical Technician

Electrical Maintenance TechnicianPosition SummaryThe Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing Electrical systems and process control equipment. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports production operations, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve system performance while maintaining safety and compliance standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Monitoring & MaintenanceMonitor Electrical systems and processes to ensure efficient operation.Perform regular testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Electrical and control systems and related electrical equipment, including PLCs, VFDs., starters, overloads, soft starts, emergency lighting, ect.Analyze data from electrical and control systems to create performance reports and recommend process improvements.Troubleshooting & RepairsIdentify and resolve issues that may disrupt production processes.Implement corrective actions as necessary to restore system performance.Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as required.Collaboration & CommunicationTraining & SupportProvide training and support for staff on the operation of control systems.Attend required training sessions including PLC, refrigeration, packaging and processing equipment, PSM, SOP/109 training, and annual compliance programs.Operational & Technical SkillsApply basic operational knowledge of Allen Bradley,Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of product flow and equipment functions.Maintain advanced knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and CMMS software (including Megamation).Operate lift trucks, scissors lifts, and boom lifts safely and accurately (certification within 30 days).Qualifications & RequirementsMust possess at least a Level 2 Maintenance status.Must show strong mechanical aptitude and solid work ethic.Must follow directions, ask questions, and demonstrate initiative and engagement.Must maintain good attendance (fewer than 3 points on record).Must be able to read and write in English and communicate clearly.Must have basic math skills and general computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, CMMS).No safety or LOTO violations within the previous year.Annual training and PSM compliance.Possess a valid Oregon electrical license, journeyman or LMETechnical CompetenciesUnderstanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, heat exchangers, and power transmission.Advanced electrical knowledge, including the ability to operate MEGGER and handheld amp meter.Ability to conduct shift rounds with an introductory understanding of readings and system conditions.Welding proficiency (MIG, TIG, ARC), including ability to perform emergency welds during production with minimal supervision.Ability to weld ADR belts, build tension knives, unplug cutter loops, rebuild van-mark abrasive rolls, and assemble and start up Urschel cutters.Strong troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.Additional RequirementsUnderstand core operational concepts including:Soft water system requirementsBoiler water testingAdding oil to liquid ammonia pumpsCondenser readings and chemical deliveryWaste system operationsAir compressor operations and requirementsActively participate in the PSM RM program.Maintain high-quality work standards, good housekeeping practices, and strong teamwork skills.Calbee North America is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to a policy of non-discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, age, sex, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, citizenship, ancestry, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or familial status or any other legally protected status.
