Intensivist Physician- Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA
We have a full-time opportunity for a BC/BE Intensivist to join our well-established Critical Care practice at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
This position is a daytime flexible block schedule.
Manage Critical Care patients in a busy ICU.
Create, direct, coordinate, and supervise the patient care plans daily
Conduct/order diagnostic tests, and analyze results and prescribe indicated treatments and therapies
Refer patients to medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate
Work as part of an integrated team with care management, nursing, pharmacy, etc.
Assist in patient education and goal setting
Participate and adhere to all quality metrics and goals as established and directed by Adfinitas or the client/hospital
Partner with and oversee Advanced Practice Providers
Submit accurate and timely charges for all professional services performed
Lead Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) codes and Rapid Response Team evaluations
Attend committee, CQI and management meetings, as appropriate
Manage ventilators
Complete central lines
Perform intubations
Comply with policies and procedures regarding department operations
Establish and maintain records, reports and statistical data
REQUIREMENTS:
BE/BC in Critical Care Medicine
Strong inpatient skill set
Quality-focused team player
Experience working with advanced practice providers
Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
Ability to function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Effective oral and written communication skills
Commitment to providing exceptional patient care
Active state license, American Heart Association CPR Certification, DEA License, state Controlled Substance Registration
