Crisis Intervention Specialist - Care Response Team

As part of the Care Response Team, provides screening, crisis intervention and crisis assessment services to individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis following a call to 911 or 988. The Crisis Intervention Specialist will respond in the community with a Peer Support Specialist and be responsible for providing brief mental health and/or alcohol and other drug screenings, crisis intervention, and appropriate recommendations for care and linkage to services to a diverse population of clients. Services will be provided in a community-based environment. Primary responsibilities: Completes initial screenings/assessments for mental health and alcohol or other drug with individuals in a behavioral health crisis and have reached out for help by calling 911 or 988. Along with a Peer Support Specialist, complete community-based assessments with individuals in crisis and facilitate linkage to appropriate services. Provide follow-up services to those previously assessed to assure linkage to on-going providers. Schedule: Four (4) -10.5 hour shifts (1st and 2nd shift available, various days (including weekends) This is a non-exempt, union position with a minimum-starting wage of $38.46 per hour. Qualifications: Must have either LSW, LISW, LPC or LPCC. Three years’ experience with SMD population. Experience with SUD a plus.
