We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas. The Machine Operator operates lithium-ion battery production machines in clean-room environments, maintains machines and work areas, conducts analysis and production logs, and ensures safe, high-quality products. Effective communication with coworkers and maintenance technicians is essential. Maintaining shift logs, quality control records, and strict compliance with safety standards and company policies are also crucial. Essential Duties: Prioritizing safety is the top concern every day, including always using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Assuming accountability for the team and the equipment under their supervision. Operating multiple lithium-ion battery cell production machines independently, without continuous oversight. Completing all tasks necessary to support production, whether these tasks correspond to a higher or lower-level position, by providing training and instructions. Being authorized to intervene in the production process to prevent the creation of sub-standard products. Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of all oil and chemical labeling and storage requirements by thoroughly reading all SDS. Operating, initiating, and shutting down machines. Identifying problems and minor troubleshooting activities following the specified escalation procedures. Carrying out materials delivery to the production floor as required. Analyze work volume and execute multitasking duties as needed. Assisted maintenance technicians in executing preventative maintenance procedures, such as cleaning and lubricating machinery. Monitoring processes and conducting continuous image inspections and visual quality checks to ensure compliance with acceptance standards. Utilizing material bar code scanners. Adhering to and executing work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Preparing essential documentation as required. Maintaining a clean and secure work area by adhering to the "6s" principles (Sort, Shine, Set-in Order, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) and demonstrating a profound understanding of department workflows, processes, and attention to detail. Communicating effectively with colleagues verbally and in writing and embracing the PENA High-Performance Culture. Adhering to company regulations and policies, fulfilling all training, behavioral, and attendance prerequisites. Complying with all environmentally safe practices and regulations. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full NFPA Cal Suits, Cotton Hi-Viz Uniform, EH Boots, Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Qualifications: Requirements: Basic/Required: A high school diploma, GED (General Education Development), or equivalent is required. Essential Qualifications: Prior exposure to a manufacturing setting, automation, or assembly is imperative. Proficiently understand English, which encompasses reading, writing, and verbal communication. Completion of Standard Work and Job Instruction training is essential. Moreover, familiarity with Kaizen and active involvement in Standard Work Improvement activities are prerequisites. The ability to independently complete 60% of all regular tasks in the specified area at a level that shows autonomous proficiency. Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years of prior experience in a manufacturing environment, automation, or assembly is a prerequisite for this position. Demonstrated ability to adeptly convey information in one-on-one and small group settings to patrons, clients, and fellow personnel of the corporation. Proficiency in performing basic arithmetic operations encompassing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Competency in both Metric and Standard systems of measurement. Fundamental proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, is desirable.
