Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical assessments, including mental status examinations, suicide/self-harm risk assessments, and behavioral evaluationsDevelop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary care teamAdminister medications safely via PO, IM, SQ, and IV routes, including psychotropic medications, while monitoring therapeutic effectiveness and adverse reactionsProvide crisis intervention and utilize de-escalation techniques to manage acute psychiatric emergenciesImplement and monitor safety protocols to protect patients and staff, including close observation, environmental safety checks, restraints, and seclusion when clinically indicated and in compliance with policyEducate patients and families on mental health conditions, medications, treatment plans, and coping strategiesMaintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation in the EMR in accordance with regulatory and HIPAA standardsCoordinate intake assessments, medication reconciliation, referrals to psychiatric and medical specialists, and discharge planning to support continuity of careAdvocate for patients' rights, dignity, and access to appropriate mental health servicesPromote trauma-informed, culturally competent care and support mental health awareness while helping reduce stigma
