This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Running client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budgetSupervising, training, and mentoring associates and interns on tax projects and assessing performance of staff for engagement reviews; performing in-charge role as neededReviewing tax returns done by staff and making recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities; gain increasing responsibility in review processPreparing tax returns for more complex individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clientsResearching and consulting on various tax matters; utilizing tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax mattersResponding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authoritiesRecommending new tax strategies and determining profitability of potential acquisitions and mergersIdentifying areas of tax reductions and savings regularlyTraveling to clients occasionallyQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree in accounting, taxation, or equivalentMinimum of 2+ years of progressive tax return preparation and compliance experienceConstruction Tax experience requiredCPA license or in process of obtaining CPA licenseProficient with a computer software packages and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, Tax software, ProSystems Engagement and CCH AxcessStrong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returnsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to meet or exceed time constraints and goalsAbility to work in a team environment, supervise staff and lead projectsAbility to work additional hours as neededAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentMaintains a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for othersWhy Grassi?Our firm is consistently ranked by Vault.com and the Best Places to Work group for our commitment to compensation, paid time off, work-life balance, culture and more.
