Traffic Engineer

Traffic Engineer Y2K Engineering is a fast-growing company located in Denver, CO. We are currently seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our team. Job Description The primary responsibility of the Traffic Engineer is to design and implement traffic control and road maintenance plans for Y2K’s client locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of traffic engineering and will be able to develop and implement plans for the installation of speed humps, bike lanes, and other road improvements. The candidate should be familiar with the installation of signage, lighting, and other road improvements as well. The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of the intersection of roads and intersections with roads, etc. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional customer service. Qualifications 3+ years of relevant work experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, traffic safety regulations, and relevant industry standards (e.g., MUTCD, AASHTO, FHWA). Proficiency in traffic engineering software and tools, such as HCS, VISSIM, and Synchro. Experience in conducting traffic safety studies and applying crash analysis techniques. Familiarity with traffic control devices, geometric design standards, and transportation planning principles. Ability to interpret and apply local, state, and federal regulations related to traffic safety. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information to diverse audiences. Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
