Visitor Service AssociateThe Visitor Services Associate serves as a frontline ambassador for Imagination Station Toledo, creating welcoming, engaging, and memorable experiences for every guest who walks through our doors. This role is central to fulfilling our mission of inspiring curiosity and a lifelong love of science through hands-on discovery. Associates work across multiple visitor-facing areas including the Visitor Services desk and the Science2Go retail shop and play a vital role in making science accessible and exciting for people of all ages and backgrounds.Responsibilities:Greet and welcome all visitors with enthusiasm and a guest-first mindsetRespond to visitor questions and needs with accuracy, warmth, and patienceProcess admissions transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including cash handling, credit card processing, and membership verificationSell and promote memberships, communicating the value and benefits to prospective membersMaintain accurate records and follow cash-handling procedures in compliance with organizational policiesAssist with opening and closing procedures as assignedMaintain gift shop appearance, including restocking, merchandising, and inventory organizationProcess retail transactions accurately and support loss prevention practicesCommunicate effectively with team members, volunteers, and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operationsFollow all safety protocols and respond appropriately in emergency situationsSupport an inclusive environment by demonstrating sensitivity to visitors of all abilities, backgrounds, and identitiesRequirements:High school diploma or GED equivalentStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with people of all agesComfort working in a fast-paced, high-energy, public-facing environmentReliable, punctual, and detail-orientedAbility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as requiredExperience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or informal education settingsBasic cash handling and POS experiencePhysical Demands:Must be able to stand for long periods of time typically up to 6 hoursMust be able to lift up to 30 poundsMust be able to kneel or bend over as required for stocking inventory
