Project Safety AdviserThe Project Safety Adviser in Greenbelt, MD supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, while enhancing the overall safety culture.Responsibilities include:Oversee all aspects of a complex electrical structures and construction project ensuring OSHA complianceConsult with executive management on contractor safety plans and ensure implementation in place for each projectProvide review and oversight of construction Health & Safety management proceduresAttend safety department and management meetings, training workshops, and daily activity briefingsOversee all subcontractors and contractors ensuring competencyContinually encouraging and promoting Health & Safety initiatives aimed at influencing positive safety behavior on all projectsQualifications required:Minimum of 5-7 years' of construction safety experience with formal qualifications in construction health and safety managementExtensive experience in contractor communications, liaising with design teams, and other project professionalsPerform routine jobsite inspections to all DC Region project sites at least once per week with documented inspection reports submitted internally and to those project's customersConduct safety-related new hire training at our DC Regional OfficeConduct safety-related, jobsite initial and refresher training as needed (e.g. confined space, excavation/trenching, fall protection, Construction OSHA 10/30 Hr., First Aid/CPR/AED, silica dust control, etc.)Track/prepare project-specific monthly safety reports as required by our DC regional customersLead internal incident investigation report efforts and prepare/submit reports for the DC region for safety-related incidentsDraft, submit, and/or update site-specific health and safety plans (HASPs) as neededExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient computer skillsEmbody HazTek's Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Dependability, Leadership, AccountabilityPreferred:CHSTBachelor's degree in a safety related fieldOwner's Representative experienceDOT experienceOverviewHazTek Safety Management is a full-service, objective safety partner, founded in 1997.
