Driver Manager
We are seeking a highly organized and driven Driver Manager to oversee daily fleet operations within a flatbed, oversize, and over-dimensional transportation environment. This role is the primary point of contact for drivers and is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations while delivering exceptional customer service.The ideal candidate will balance driver support, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and profitability while promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability.Key Responsibilities: Fleet Supervision & Driver ManagementSupervise daily driver activity and fleet performanceMaintain real-time visibility of driver status, location, and load progressServe as the primary point of contact and advocate for the driveEnsure timely communication with drivers (respond within 15 minutes)Monitor and enforce on-time service and dispatch complianceCoach drivers on safety, performance, and operational expectationsAddress incidents, absences, and performance concerns with the internal teamReview telematics, in-cab camera footage, and safety alertsDispatch & Operational PlanningPlan routes and dispatch drivers for maximum efficiency and profitabilityCoordinate flatbed, oversize, and heavy haul freight movementManage permits, route restrictions, and compliance requirementsCoordinate escorts, route surveys, and jurisdictional approvalEnsure adherence to customer-specific requirements and job site needsMaintain accurate updates in customer systems and tracking toolsCompliance & SafetyEnforce DOT regulations, Hours of Service, and company policyMonitor driver logs, routes, and permit complianceEnsure proper cargo securement for flatbed and heavy haul lPartner with Safety and Maintenance to address issues proactivelyPromote a safety-first culture to reduce incidents and service disruptionsPayroll, Fuel & Administrative OversightsVerify and approve driver payroll (mileage, detention, layover, etc.)Assist with fuel planning and cost control strategiesReport and track maintenance conMaintain accurate dispatch records and communication logsRequired Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of flatbed, oversize, and heavy haul operationsUnderstanding of DOT regulations and Hours of ServiceExperience with telematics, ELDs, and safety monitoring systemsExcellent communication and customer serviceAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentStrong problem-solving and organizationalProficiency in TMS systems, spreadsheets, and customer portalsPreferred Qualifications3–5+ years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or fleet managementExperience with oversize/over-dimensional freight and permit coordinationFamiliarity with route planning and heavy haul regulationsExperience with ELD systems and in-cab camera platformsPrior leadership or supervisory experienceWork EnvironmentOffice-based role with frequent communication with drivers and customersFast-paced environment requiring strong decision-making skillsOccasional after-hours support for operations and drivers' needsWhy Join Us?Competitive CompensationOpportunity to work in specialized, high-impact transportation operationsOperations Growth opportunities within a dynamic and fast-paced environmentStrong team culture focused on safety, accountability, and performance
