Responsibilities include collaborating with classroom teachers and building principals, assessment, review of data, and planning and implementing interventions for students. Experience with implementing standards-based programming is preferred. The candidate will be expected to participate in ongoing professional learning in mathematics teaching and learning with district personnel. Ability to work positively with parents, administrators, and other faculty is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Math Intervention Specialist position will:Provide math intervention services to middle school students -Provide opportunities for students to develop a strong number sense foundation.Encourage students to develop and use strategies that are efficient, ability appropriate, and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts.Engage students in activities where they choose and use mathematical tools that assist in problem-solving and show an understanding of mathematical concepts.Assist in analyzing data from district and state assessments.Assist in the development and implementation of math professional learning sessions for teachers and staff.In collaboration with the building principal, develop schedules for math intervention services in each elementary building.Assist in data collection for Educational Support team or MTSS meetings.Attend scheduled Educational Support Team meetings, MTSS meetings, staff meetings, and committee meetings as needed.Perform related duties when assigned.To perform other professional duties as assigned by the building principal.Education RequirementsMinimum:Bachelor's degree in EducationPreferred:Masters degree In Teaching Mathematics.Graduate work in the area of curriculum and supervision.Experience RequirementsMinimum:Five years of satisfactory classroom teaching experience demonstrating and providing evidence of high levels of student success in mathematics.Experience in providing student intervention math services.Certifications & LicensesRequired:Pennsylvania teaching certificationCertification preference would be Elementary K-6, Elem 4-8, Math 7 - 12.Application RequirementsExternal ApplicantsPlease submit the following documents with your online application:Current employment clearances (dated within the past 5 years):Act 34 - Criminal HistoryAct 114 - FBI FingerprintAct 151 - PA Child AbuseCopies of degree certificates and transcriptsAct 168 paperwork, Physical exam results, TB test results (required upon hire)Clearances must be for employment purposes.
