Paralegal
The Job
This position provides paralegal and administrative support to the Legal Department, which includes several attorneys, a privacy officer, a privacy specialist, a records manager and one senior legal assistant. The successful candidate will be detail oriented and can work autonomously on a variety of assignments and projects. The paralegal should possess a strong drive for excellence, an ability to adapt to change, and a “can do” positive attitude.
You Will
Provide support with drafting, proofreading, and editing of legal documents, including contracts and correspondence.
Serve as one of the contract management system administrators, utilizing the company contract management system.
Assist with the preparation of materials for presentations, meetings, and legal proceedings.
Assist with project management for Legal Department projects.
Maintain matters organized by triaging priorities, monitoring and updating status, documenting actions, tracking deadlines, maintained logs, and preparing reports.
Coordinate and prepare meetings with internal and external clients as needed, including agenda preparation, virtual or physical room set up, and general logistics to ensure a smooth participation experience.
Exercise independent problem‑solving techniques to resolve administrative problems.
Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all matters.
Work collaboratively with other departments and outside counsel.
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Assist in the development or improvement of templates, department‑wide business processes, and policies and procedures.
Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications
0-3 years of related experience
Performs work under direct supervision
Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff
Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
Technical expertise - Strong technical skills for functional area
Problem Solving - Basic problem solving skills
Communication - Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and follow directions
Oral and written communication skills
Customer/client orientation
Understanding of legal practices.
