Overview In this Software Engineer II role, you design, build, and support scalable RESTful APIs and the related cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with product, UX, and architecture teams to deliver secure, high-quality API solutions for millions of customers. You’ll work in an Agile environment, contribute across the full software lifecycle, and leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development. This position offers the chance to shape backend systems powering digital products and to grow within a fast-paced, customer-focused tech organization. ResponsibilitiesDesign, development, testing, deployment, and support of scalable RESTful APIs using Python and frameworksEnd-to-end product lifecycle from inception to deprecation ensuring quality, performance, and maintainabilityCollaborate with cross-functional partners to align technical solutions with business goalsWrite clean, maintainable, unit-tested code following standardsUtilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code qualityContribute to solution architectures involving microservices, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), CI/CD, and containersImplement and maintain API security standards (OAuth, JWT, SSO, token management, access controls)Participate in design reviews, cross-team planning, and Agile/SCRUM ceremoniesWork with message queues and background task processing as requiredSupport database design and implementation using relational and NoSQL databasesMaintain documentation, adhere to security/compliance standards Key requirements3+ years of professional Python server-side developmentExperience with Django, Flask, Bottle, or equivalentExperience with Java Spring BootDesigning and building RESTful APIsUnit-tested, maintainable codeAI-assisted development tools experience (GitLab Copilot, Windsurf, or similar)Cloud platforms experience, preferably AWS (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, ECS, RDS)Microservices, CI/CD, Docker, DevOps basicsFamiliarity with messaging queues (RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, SQS, Event Bus) and CeleryOOD, data structures, relational and NoSQL databasesAPI security, authentication, authorization, access controlFrontend basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)Ability to work independently in Agile/SCRUMstrong analytical and problem-solving abilitieseffective communication and collaborationhigh organizational skills with bias for actionPythonDjangoFlask
