Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, this position is responsible for preparing, reconciling, and analyzing financial reports and transactions, as appropriate. This position ensures that operations comply with all internal control procedures. The position will partner with Human Resources, Finance Teams, Operations Teams to ensure compliance with negotiated agreements.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesProcess weekly PayrollAudit, reconcile, and process tips, service charges, union dues, benefits reports, hours worked and paid reportsReview and validate payroll reports and registers for accuracyPrepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tablesMaintain files and distribute information to shared services and vendorsWork with Finance, HR and hotel departments to ensure agreements with third parties are followed and executedSupport department managers with labor standards, payroll, and other requestsPerform ad hoc accounting tasks to support Finance and Operations teamsAssist in the completion of computerized receiving reports and transmission of receiving documentation to appropriate partiesAssist Finance Management with maintaining the effectiveness of internal controls to safeguard the assets and resources of the hotel.Assist in the performance of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirementsPrepare accounting journal entriesAssist with month-end close tasksAssist in the completion of special projects and initiatives assigned by Finance managementMaintain accurate records to comply with federal, state and local lawsObtain data and information necessary to assist in responding to inquiriesAnswer incoming phone calls, directs calls to appropriate department as necessaryRegular attendance in conformance with standardsMay be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotelRequired to attend all assigned training sessions and meetingsSupportive Functions And ResponsibilitiesNotify appropriate individual promptly and fully of all problems and/or unusual matters of significancePromote and apply teamwork skill at all timesMaintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with guests, management, and team members, ensuring a positive and professional environmentMaintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work areaExecute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standardsComply with required safety regulations and proceduresComply with hotel standards, policies, and rulesRemain current with hotel information and changesComply with hotel uniform and grooming standardsAbility to make decisions on imperfect informationAction-oriented mindsetDecisivenessOther duties as assignedQualificationsExcellent communication skillsAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentAbility to work independently in a time sensitive environmentAbility to maintain confidentiality is mandatoryAbility to communicate clearly, timely, and accuratelyAbility to develop and maintain cooperative working relationshipsStrong organizational skillsAble to communicate and organize work under pressureStrong attention to detailStrong computer skills and ability to learn new computer applicationsProficient in Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint software applicationsAdvanced Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP and other) requiredAbility to build and maintain Excel reports using advanced formulasAbility to prepare accounting journal entriesAbility to work with complex agreementsAbility to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays (must be available to work on Sunday)Education And ExperienceAssociate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or other business-related field of study required.Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferredGeneral knowledge of mathematics and accounting principles required2-3 years accounting experience required Hospitality accounting experience preferredHotel Payroll experience preferredHotel Income Audit experience preferredWage range for this position, based on experience, is $27.20 to $34.00.
