AWS Architect

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Architect with over 12 years of experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS core services, cloud architecture, and best practices for building secure, high-availability, and cost-effective solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions tailored to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities: Design and Architect AWS Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions using AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation, and more. Cloud Migration: Oversee the migration of complex on-premises applications and data to AWS, utilizing best practices for re-platforming, re-architecting, and re-hosting (lift-and-shift). Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain AWS CloudFormation templates and Terraform scripts for automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management. Cost Optimization: Analyze cloud usage and costs using AWS Cost Explorer and Trusted Advisor, making recommendations for Reserved Instances, right-sizing, and other strategies to minimize expenses. Security and Compliance: Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM roles and policies, encryption using AWS KMS, VPC configurations, and multi-factor authentication, ensuring compliance with industry standards like SOC 2 and HIPAA. DevOps and CI/CD: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, and GitLab, facilitating smooth and automated deployment processes for development teams. Disaster Recovery and High Availability: Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans, utilizing AWS Backup, cross-region replication, multi-AZ RDS, and other AWS resilience features. Containerization: Work with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) to deploy and manage containerized applications, enabling high availability and scalability. Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to AWS engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, development teams, and operations to understand business requirements and deliver cloud solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability needs. Qualifications: Experience: 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture with a focus on AWS. Proven track record in designing and deploying AWS infrastructure for various industries. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty. Technical Skills: Strong expertise in AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, scripting with Python, Bash, and PowerShell, as well as DevOps tools like Jenkins and Docker. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and API Gateway. Knowledge of hybrid cloud solutions and integration with on-premises infrastructure. Experience in implementing monitoring and logging solutions using AWS CloudWatch, ELK Stack, and Prometheus.
