QualificationsJob DescriptionWork Experience Required: Minimum 3 years’ experience in hotel operations or other commensurate experienceEducation: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or equivalent combination of education and work experienceMust have the ability to communicate in EnglishSelf-starting personality with an even dispositionAlways maintain a professional appearance and mannerMust be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team playerKnowledge of the travel industry, current market trends and economic factorsExtensive skill in MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing)Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer systemAbility to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflictsYou should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, can solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair hotel malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (e.g., heat pumps, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, elevators) and other hotel equipment throughoutBe able to record all your troubleshooting and repairs or replacement with-in our PM (Preventive Maintenance) systemAssist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standardRefurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and countersPaint and finish furniture and fixtures if neededPerform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g., "room care") and assist with all I.T (Information Technology) when neededRespond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and or requests to ensure strong guest satisfactionCommunicate with Casino Engineering and all Hotel department heads to become aware of maintenance needs and ensure timely response to internal requestsService the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and recording logsComply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basisPerform any other job-related duties as assignedCan communicate well with guestsAbility to stand and move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functionsWe strive to complete our GOLDEN CIRCLE culture on every conversation we have with both our internal guests (team members) and external guests (our customers)Work Habits: In order to maintain a positive guest and employee experience, your work habits should always meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality, and attendanceEvery Commerce employee should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.Schedule: 8.5-hour shift with a 30 min break and two 10 min breaks.Shift is open.
