Payroll and Onboarding Clerk
About Us:
Dimondale Adolescent Care Facility provides support and care to youth in need. We’re committed to excellence in service and professionalism, and we’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Payroll and Employee Onboarding Clerk.
What You’ll Do:
As the Payroll and Employee Onboarding Clerk, you’ll play a vital role in HR operations, ensuring accurate payroll processing and seamless onboarding of new staff. You’ll work directly with our Chief Operating Officer and collaborate with administrators and HR personnel.
Please note that this is a full-time, on-site position, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM in Torrance, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll & Benefits
Process semi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
Distribute checks, handle garnishments, and ensure timecard accuracy
Support 401(k) enrollment and benefits tracking
Submit quarterly state reports and coordinate with Accountant
Employee Onboarding
Set up accounts, assist with training access, and explain company policies
Guide new hires through systems like the DMV Portal and clock-in tools
Assemble and maintain personnel files
HR Systems Support
Resolve issues in systems (CS, Workforce Hub, Swipeclock)
Process employment status changes and verifications
Maintain task tracking spreadsheets
What You Need:
Associate’s degree and 2+ years in payroll, HR support, or onboarding
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with payroll systems
Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and communication skills
Ability to pass required background checks and have a valid CA driver’s license
Preferred Experience:
Working knowledge of Workforce Hub, Swipeclock, and Thomas Recruiters (CS)
Additional Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years old
Physical ability to perform job duties (e.g., sit, lift up to 30 lbs)
Willingness to complete Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) within 1 month of hire
Compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
