Business Analyst

Spy Pond Partners is a small, dynamic management consulting firm serving transportation and infrastructure management organizations. We work to improve the nation’s transportation systems and help public agencies become more efficient and effective. We have offices in Arlington, Massachusetts, Richmond, Virginia and have staff working remotely across the United States. We are seeking a Business Analyst with a background or interest in transportation to join our team. In this role, the selected individual will support state, local, and federal transportation agencies in delivering innovative solutions to challenging transportation and infrastructure management problems – helping these agencies develop, maintain, and operate more sustainable, integrated, and equitable transportation systems for the people that they serve. Responsibilities Perform research and analysis to synthesize, guide, and advance the state of practice Design and conduct interviews and surveys to understand current and desired business practices and capabilities and identify improvement needs Synthesize information and consider “big picture” organizational context to deliver business insights, recommendations, and improvement programs Create spreadsheets and decision-support tools Develop quality communication materials, including reports, presentations, and visuals Some domestic travel Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business, planning, public policy, or engineering Proficient with word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet tools Strong problem-solving aptitude Excellent written and oral communications Experience preparing effective visual presentations Highly organized and detail oriented Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Desired Skills Experience in transportation-related topic areas Demonstrated capability to synthesize complex concepts or unrefined materials to develop connections, draw insights, and improve communication and understanding Knowledge of modern data visualization tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite Experience with web application development Salary Starting salary for this position depends on qualifications and experience Submit your resume to careers@spypondpartners.com.
