Quality Assurance Laboratory TechnicianEstherville Foods Inc.Estherville Foods, Inc. is seeking to hire a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join their quality department. Employee will be responsible for accurately and timely performing physical and microbiological tests and analysis to determine the food safety of products, ensuring results meet the customers' standards.EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Following Good Laboratory PracticesUnderstanding and following SOPs and regulationsDocumenting and setting samples (Pathogen testing, petrifilm, solids, pH, etc)Collect, review and analyze data, identifying and correcting problemsDistribution of laboratory reportsCompletes assigned tasksReviewing, completing and/or working with quality and other staff on completion of required documentation and practices within the facilityActive in the quality team for continuous improvement within Sonstegard FoodsPromote food safety and adhere to USDA and company regulationsWork weekend/holiday rotation at laboratory when neededSkills/AbilitiesProven team playerProblem solving and decision-making skills using dataGood verbal & written communication skillsAbility to document and maintain accurate and legible recordsHighly motivated and has the ability to work multiple tasks with excellent resultsMust be very detail orientedSelf-starter and works efficiently under minimal supervisionSkilled in Microsoft Word and ExcelExperienceLaboratory experience (e.g., Food, analytical, hospital or veterinarian)Experience in a Quality Control setting (Preferred)Physical DemandsEmployee is required to speak, read and write English frequently. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit and handle material. Employee will be required to use a computer, use hands and arms, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employee must be able to lift 30-50 pounds occasionally.Work includes office work, plant floor work and laboratory work environments. A new state of the art lab is in process of construction; position will be held at existing lab until then. Some cross training within the quality department will occur.#hc230891
