Project OverviewThis role supports the facility management of a newly constructed 26-story Civil and Probate Courthouse in Miami, FL. This is part of a long-term operations and maintenance contract, responsible for maintaining all building systems (interior and exterior) to ensure uninterrupted courthouse operations.The environment is mission-critical, requiring high standards in safety, uptime, and system performance.Position SummaryThe Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading daily maintenance operations, supervising technicians, and ensuring optimal performance of all building systems with a strong focus on HVAC, mechanical systems, and high-rise facility maintenance.This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for candidates who have progressed from technician to supervisor and bring both technical expertise and team leadership experience.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, supervise, and mentor a team of maintenance techniciansAssign, prioritize, and track work orders for timely completionPerform and oversee maintenance and repairs across:HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, heat exchangers)Mechanical systems (pumps, motors)Electrical systems and fire/life safety systemsPlumbing and potable water systemsBuilding Automation Systems (BMS/BAS)Conduct routine facility inspections and proactively address issuesDevelop and execute preventive maintenance programsEnsure compliance with OSHA and safety regulationsMaintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inventoryCoordinate with subcontractors/vendors for specialized servicesTrain and guide junior techniciansParticipate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenanceWork from schematics, drawings, and technical instructionsPromote a strong safety culture and operational excellenceRequired Qualifications & SkillsExperience: Minimum 5+ years in facility maintenance/building operationsPrior supervisory or lead experience managing techniciansExperience in commercial or high-rise buildingsTechnical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with:HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers)Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsKnowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS)Preventive and corrective maintenance experienceAbility to troubleshoot complex equipment issuesCertifications & Education: Technical degree OR equivalent hands-on experience/apprenticeshipKnowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulationsCore Competencies: Strong leadership and team management skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilityStrong communication and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentTools & Systems: Experience with CMMS systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)Other Requirements: Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-callValid driver’s licenseAbility to pass background checkPhysically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spacesPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldEPA Universal Refrigeration CertificationAdditional certifications in HVAC or mechanical systemsExperience working in mission-critical environments (courthouse, hospital, data centers, etc.)Experience with tools such as Procore, SmartsheetBilingual – Spanish (preferred)
