Fully Remote Network IP Engineer

TEKsystems is seeking an IP Core Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust IP/MPLS core network for a leading Alaska-based ISP. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative, remote environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the company’s carrier-grade network infrastructure. This position is 100% remote, working typical daytime Alaska business hours, Monday through Friday Key Responsibilities 50% – Plan, design, implement, and document new network solutions20% – Provide escalation and troubleshooting support for operations teams20% – Create Engineering Estimates and Installation Packages10% – Test new technologies and service architectures in lab environments Qualifications Strong experience with Alcatel/Nokia and Juniper routers/switchesAdvanced knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP)Familiarity with RSVP, LDP, PIM, and data center network designProficiency in Ethernet technologies (VLANs, STP, LACP, MC-LAG)Skilled in Microsoft Visio for network documentationExcellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across departments Preferred Certifications Nokia: NRS I / IIJuniper: JNCIA / JNCIS Skills Required Core Networking: Nokia and Juniper IP EngineeringProtocols: MPLS, IS-IS, BGP, OSPFDocumentation: MOPs (Methods of Procedure) creation Nice-to-Have Skill Experience with Metasolv Why Join Us? Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
