Job DescriptionBMO's Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is hiring a Vice President to join its Insurance Investment Banking team in New York.You will provide a combination of deep insurance industry sector expertise, innovative thinking in a team-based approach and world class execution across a full suite of products to clients through an integrated Capital Markets platform using a sector ecosystem approach. Collaborates to generate creative, client-focused solutions to prospective and current clients.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipates in deal teams to develop, present, and win mandates for new opportunitiesCreates pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and participates in client presentationsMonitors client, client industry, and regulatory agencies for potential changes that may impact client portfolio and business needsReviews and continually monitors performance of existing accounts and client relationshipsConducts due diligence (e.g., client visits, business model analysis, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations)Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholdersBuilds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholdersGenerates updated financial models / analyses as dictated by business needs and industry requirementsCreates financial models to analyze client portfolios and anticipate client needs.Applies appropriate technical concepts and completes/leads consistent and reliable technical and financial reports/analyses to support client deliverablesUnderstands the complexity of transactions and related risk (e.g., credit, market, operational, legal/compliance, etc.)Provides direction and feedback to Analysts; accountable for development and mentoring of AnalystsDelivers financial modeling to support strategic recommendations to clientsUnderstands the complexity of transactions and related risks (credit, market, operational, legal/compliance, etc.)Balances the Bank's risk appetite with client needs when making recommendations / proposalsQualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of insurance M&A experience across investment banking, corporate development, and/or actuarial consulting roles (exposure to, and/or a strong interest in, the U.S. life & annuity sector is preferred)Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, with an outstanding record of academic achievement. MBA degree preferred but not requiredExceptional team player with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentDetail oriented with strong analytical abilitiesDeep, sophisticated understanding of accounting and financeExcellent mathematical, written/verbal communication, and computer skillsAbility to manage expectations of senior bankers while working on multiple projects simultaneouslyEffective leadership and coaching skillsSound and professional judgementSIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employmentSalary and CompensationBase Salary: 260,000.00 USD.The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
