Line CookSaint James Libations is looking for a skilled, thoughtful Line Cook to join our small, tight-knitkitchen team.Saint James Libations is a wine bar in Brooklyn, born from a desire to create a true sense ofbelonging through wine, culture, and creative connection. We are a queer, Black woman-ownedwine bar and cultural gathering space located in Bushwick. Designed to feel like a modern-daywine salon meets a diasporic living room, the space is moody, warm, and intimate, perfect forslow pours, deep conversation, and curated cultural experiences.This role is for someone who moves with intention and precision, and who understands how toexecute a focused menu with consistency and care. You will be responsible for running yourstation during service, maintaining quality and timing, and contributing to a kitchenenvironment that is calm, organized, and collaborative.Our menu is concise and detail-driven, requiring a strong sense of awareness and discipline. Youwill be responsible for executing dishes to standard, maintaining your mise en place, andsupporting the overall flow of service. This role calls for someone who is self-sufficient,accountable, and able to think ahead while staying present in the moment.You will work closely with the Prep Cook, communicating needs clearly and consistently, andsupporting systems around pars, product usage, and ordering. You will assist in managinginventory flow, minimizing waste, and ensuring all ingredients are handled and utilized withcare.Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety is essential. You areexpected to respect shared spaces, uphold systems, and leave the kitchen better than you foundit.The ideal candidate has a strong sense of urgency, communicates clearly and consistently, andknows how to stay calm under pressure. You are focused, grounded, and able to move with therhythm of service without losing attention to detail. You understand how to work efficiently in asmall space and how to support a team without ego, bringing both accountability and care toyour role.Candidates must have at least one year of prior line cook experience, along with a valid FoodHandler’s Certification. Availability must be Wednesday through Thursday from 2:00PM to 11:00 PM, and Friday through Sunday from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM.This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift 50lbs and carry deliveries, andwork comfortably in a small, fast-paced kitchen environment.Compensation is $26–$28 per hour, based on experience and alignment with the role.There is opportunity to grow with the program as the kitchen and menu continue to evolve.We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a growing space, who values a thoughtfuland intentional kitchen environment, and who shows up ready to contribute every day.To apply, please share your experience and a brief introduction.
