To effectively and efficiently assist the dentist in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental’s culture and mission and values.Responsibilities/ DutiesMaintaining accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress.Ensuring that all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use.Keeping patients’ mouths dry during orthodontic procedures by using a suction hose as needed.Taking intraoral X-rays of patients’ mouths.Taking photographs of patients’ teeth to aid the Orthodontist in developing treatment plans and to document patient progress.Taking dental molds of patients’ teeth for the fabrication of customized mouth guards and retainers.Removing and replacing wires, coil springs, donuts, and elastic bands.Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare.Other duties as assigned.Note: state regulations may vary, so duties will vary to align with state regulations.RequirementsQualifications/Skill SetsExpert-level knowledge of dental procedures and terminologyAdvanced proficiency in dental software and technologyStrong leadership and mentoring skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesSuperior communication skills with patients and team membersAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentIn-depth understanding of dental insurance and billing proceduresProficiency in infection control and sterilization techniquesAbility to adapt to new technologies and procedures quicklyStrong organizational and time management skillsAvailability / ScheduleWorking hours between: M-F, 08:45 AM - 05:30 PM and Sat, 08:45 AM - 01:00 PMPart time employment:3+ days a week, 29 hours or less per weekavailable to work Saturdays, when neededmultiple half day shifts or fewer full day shifts
